Okay, so you know how you get heaps of dodgy flash drives on eBay that are rigged up to say they have a higher capacity than they actually do? I didn’t, until I bought a few…
I have googled and found a few programs and solutions to test the size of a flash drive using a PC, but can’t find anything to do it using a Mac.
Is there anything out there? Has my Mac finally let me down?

Have you tried Disc Utility? It’s in the utilities folder in your applications. Every Mac has it.
It is a bit confusing at first but I promise once you get the hang of it you’ll realize how easy it is. It can format to any format I’ve ever tried. You can make a Windows boot disc, that will boot on windows! Or a Mac boot disc. You can partition any flash drive, hide partitions, create one Mac OS journaled and one NTFS partition on the same flash drive…. I’m sure it can solve any disk trouble. Just when you format, don’t do quick format, pick the one that allows you to choose how many partitions. Then select 1 partition, choose your type and size, then your done!
