I’m not very familiar with a Windows installation- since any Windows PC I’ve used obviously comes with the OS- and I’m a Mac user. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a place inwhich I could download a trial version of Windows-preferably a version within the past 2 years.

The only versions of Windows that are available for trial are the Server operating systems. However, they can be installed on desktop PCs and used quite effectively – Server 2008 even comes with a “Desktop Experience” pack that turns on features more suited to a desktop computer than a server.
