december girl asked:
i’ve looked at ‘ The Driving Test Success ‘ and also the ‘ DSA ‘ one’s and they are both incompatible with my mac, i feel quite disappointed as they both have really good reviews for passing the theory/hazard and perception tests.
But, would i still be better off by reading the books instead?

Nothing is compatible with Mac.
Most states let you take sample tests on their Department of Motor Vehicles web-site
Aaaah, go in and take the test cold, most of the stuff they ask you is common sense stuff you’ve been absorbing through being a passenger in cars.
Jeez – you’re right – I never realised that before! It’s not fair us mac lovers have to suffer, just for having superior computers!
I’m afraid I can’t help other than to suggest you use the software on a friend’s computer?
Good luck.
I own and run a driving school and hadn’t realised that neither of these bits of Theory & Hazard Perception test software seems to be compatible with a Mac…I did a search but can’t find anything else suitable for the Mac
If you have a DVD player (or DVD compatible games console), there is a interactive DVD version of “Driving Test Success” – one of our pupils who did not have a PC used this successfully. Here’s a link to the manufacturer’s (Focus Multimedia) webpage for the DVDi version -
It seems to retail for £12.99 direct from the manufacturer, but you can get it for £8.48 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000UTSSE6?tag=cleadrivtrai-21&camp=1406&creative=6394&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B000UTSSE6&adid=1NESY9QFWDZEDKDSA3YH&).
Driving Test Success is a very good product – and is “the whole package” in terms of what it includes – you don’t need anything else. So, yes, you can read books, but you do need some way of practicing for the Hazard Perception part of the test, and unless you can get access to a PC, this might be your best bet..
Good luck when you take your Theory Test
