I am new to programming and I’m starting to use terminal to write simple programs to experiment.
From the research I’ve done online I have learned that you can use gcc to compile a program in Terminal on my mac.

gcc test.c -o test

This is what i’ve been entering to compile my program, but when i try to compile it i get an error that reads:

cc1: error: /usr/local/include: not a directory

Again, I’m new to this and I need some help!

I am making a touch screen app in adobe flash cs5 and I can’t test my app in adobe device central cs5. Is there some kind of update needed to do this. I work on a mac running osx snow leopard. Adobe device central gives me the error that the type of file (the .ipa) cannot be tested on this type of device. Isn’t this program able to quickly and easily test touch screen apps on the computer using simulation??

So I feel a little stupid, because I am sure there is an easy explanation, but I was writing a script using JavaScript for a webpage, and was trying to open it on my Mac to test (I am a new mac user). I obviously saved the page as with a .html extension, but it wouldn’t read the code. As an example the page would read,

It actually displayed the code instead of what the code instructed the page to display. I am using Google Chrome as a web browser.

I also tried using a simple html code as a test and it did the same exact thing.

I should have clarified… the was just saying that that is where my script would’ve gone. I didn’t copy the script to my question… sorry. That isn’t actually the code i wrote.

I’m used to using Gedit in Linux and Smultron on Mac OS X but have been searching for a text editor (preferable with syntax highlighting and tabs!) that allows editing of files via SSH, so I can edit and test a CMS I’m developing with ease.

I’ve used a combination of Notepad2/Intype with Filezilla, but really need this functionality combined.
