Melanie L asked:

This is so weird, usually all of the Disney DVDs that I own, have been working perfectly on my Macbook. And I just bought a new DVD that is from Disney and suddenly, near the climax part, it kept on saying “Skipping Over Damaged Area”
I have tested on my other Mac computer, same result. Same thing for the VLC Player. I noticed that my DVD wasn’t making any sounds at all when it said that quote.
What’s going on with my Mac computers? I just want to play my movies peacefully in my room.
I only own one TV and it is the only one that has the DVD player. The main problem, there’s always someone watching TV so I never had the chance to go near it.

samonosu asked:

I’m making the switch from Windows but I’ve never used the Mac OS and so I’m looking for the best way to get my hands on one while staying as cheap as possible (avoiding refurbished/used machines). I will use the Macbook to run Adobe CS4 on the go for web and print media design work.

Both laptops will have the same 4 gb DDR3 ram, 256 mb intergrated Nvidia 9400M video card, 250 gb hard drive both running at 5400 rpm. The only difference (may be a big difference) is the CPU, 2 ghz or 2.4 ghz; I read somewhere it’s an insignificant amount. 1.8 ghz vs 2.6 ghz yea big difference, but 2 ghz vs 2.4 ghz trails closely. What do you think? I don’t care for future proofing my laptop, I just wanted to test the OS without giving myself a false impression because I was being a cheap-o.
Please don’t try to answer this question if you:

A) Don’t know *** Adobe CS4 is
B) Can’t tell the difference between CPU & GPU
C) Believe Adobe is not a resource hog
D) Mention video editing because CS4 Design Premium was not compiled for video editing
